Квартира
Квартира is a font inspired by the Soviet Хрущёвка, where each letter is neatly arranged in a 4x4 rectangle. Since I grew up in such an apartment for the first fifteen years of my life, I have a different emotion for him. The aim is to give the viewer the feeling of being squeezed, of finding some negative space inside the many blacks. It’s like rows and rows of apartment buildings from a specific period of time in the Soviet Union. Another feature of this font is the focus on the different diacritics. The note symbols in this font occupy a more important place than the font itself. So it’s perfect for languages that require diacritics, like Russian.
